Sheff Wed to talk to Port Vale about Jack Stobbs’ future
The Sheffield media claim that parent club Sheffield Wednesday have noted a lack of “game time” for winger Jack Stobbs and will speak to Port Vale.
The winger joined Vale on loan earlier this season until January with an option to extend the deal. However, he has made just five appearances so far.
He has not had loads of game time recently and has been training with us in the last couple of weeks…
To be fair to Vale boss Neil Aspin, Stobbs was one of six loanees brought in by previous boss Michael Brown and only five are allowed in the match squad. As a result, Stobbs has often been sidelined.
Development squad manager Neil Thompson told The Sheffield Star: “We will have a discussion with Port Vale about Jack. We have got the option to have a look at the situation in January. He has not had loads of game time recently and has been training with us in the last couple of weeks.
“Port Vale have had a change in manager and are in a difficult part of the division. Jack has got one or two more senior players in his position. He’s a bit frustrated he hasn’t played more but that sometimes happens when you play senior football.
“It is difficult but for Jack it is an experience and learning what it is like being out at a football club.”
