Barnet appoint new boss but he could still miss Vale game
Barnet have appointed Mark McGhee as their new manager ahead of their visit to Vale Park – but the new man may miss the game.
McGhee has been brought in to replace Rossi Eames who has moved from manager to coach.
However, McGhee faces a wait to find out if he will have to serve a six-match touchline ban.
McGhee was handed a misconduct charge by the Scottish Football Association in March for “aggressive behaviour” towards an official when he was in charge of Motherwell.
However, he had been sacked by the club before he could serve the ban and he could now have to serve the suspension at Barnet.
If the SFA want the ban to apply in England, they must apply to FIFA for the sanction to be ratified. That has not happened yet and, for now, McGhee is free to take his place against the Valiants.
