Owner Norman Smurthwaite says he is back at Vale Park to “sort out crisis”
In the summer, owner Norman Smurthwaite indicated he would be taking a backseat and leave CEO Colin Garlick and chairman Tony Fradley in charge of running the club. That decision now appears to have been reversed.
In the summer, Smurthwaite apologised to fans in a statement which announced he would step down as chairman and would no longer be involved in the daily running of the club. He said he would not be making any further comment until the club was sold. Tony Fradley was named as the club chairman assisting CEO Colin Garlick. Garlick appeared to have done a good job earning praise from this website for his efforts.
However, a tweet from Norman Smurthwaite now says:
To FAIL you have 1st had to of tried. I have had to come back to Club to sort out this crisis and on reflection should not of stayed away
— Norman Smurthwaite (@smurfpvfc) October 3, 2017
The news has prompted speculation over the futures of Garlick and Fradley at the club.
