Neil Aspin not approached for Port Vale job reports claim
A journalist based in the North East claims that there has been no approach for Gateshead manager Neil Aspin by Port Vale.
The Valiants are looking for a new manager after Michael Brown was sacked on September 16th.
Former Vale player Aspin is one of the bookies’ favourites for the post but North East based journalist Mark Carruthers says Gateshead haven’t received an approach from Vale.
Norman Smurthwaite claimed on Thursday that he had a shortlist of three exceptional candidates and that one would be in the role in time for the Grimsby game.
Aspin was a legendary figure at Vale Park and has done well within non-league football but he now appears to be out of contention for the Port Vale manager’s role.
