Oldham 0-0 Port Vale reaction: fans praise penalty hero Ryan Boot
A round-up of comments following Port Vale’s draw and penalty shootout win over Oldham on Tuesday…
Players and management
“We were good tonight. I thought we did very well. It was a solid performance against a team from the league above us. They had ten players out there who played on Saturday and we made seven changes from our game against Crewe. People say ‘why make changes?’ but we have younger players who haven’t played for a while. It’s important we give the boys in the squad a game. We could have won the game in open play,” said Brown. “We moved the ball around well and had good chances that we didn’t put away. We need to look at that.”
