Montano set to miss Leeds United game
Port Vale winger Cristian Montano is set to miss Vale’s League Cup clash with Leeds United after being injured in the opening game of the season.
Montano was a doubt for the Crawley game but was replaced at half-time after starting the game. Manager Michael Brown told the official Port Vale website: “It’s just a bit of a nerve problem in the same hamstring so we just protected it.
“We have to make sure that he’s going to be OK going forward so he might feature at Leeds or he might not.”
If Montano is ruled out, Vale have a number of options to replace him. Dan Turner came in with some success and scored his first senior goal but Brown could also opt for new loan signing Ben Whitfield as a straight replacement.
