Is JJ Hooper going to be the second former Valiant to join Grimsby?
The Grimsby Telegraph claims that released striker JJ Hooper has joined fellow League Two side Grimbsy Town on trial.
Town have already signed up former Vale winger Sam Kelly earlier this summer so Hooper would be the second Valiant to sign for the club.
According to the newspaper: “A new frontman has been the priority for the Mariners boss for much of the summer… Slade has acted quickly to take in two more strikers on trial – with one of them believed to be former Port Vale frontman JJ Hooper.”
Hooper left the Valiants at the end of last season. He joined the club in the summer of 2015 and made 54 appearances scoring ten times.
