Released Port Vale keeper joins League Two rivals
Former Port Vale keeper Harry Pickering has joined Forest Green Rovers on a one-year contract.
Pickering was a professional at Vale Park last season after graduating through the youth ranks.
He played in pre-season friendlies and enjoyed a loan spell at Kidsgrove Athletic but with Vale having a surplus of keepers on its books, Pickering and fellow keeper Sam Johnson were both released in the summer.
Vale currently have Rob Lainton, Sam Hornby, Ryan Boot and youngster Joe Slinn in their professional ranks.
Pickering has now joined Forest Green Rovers, newly promoted to the Football League, on a one-year contract as back-up to Sam Russell and Bradley Collins.
