Port Vale play down Tyrone Barnett injury
Port Vale say that striker Tyrone Barnett left the pitch as a “precaution” during the friendly game against Kidsgrove.
The striker, a recent signing from AFC Wimbledon, scored twice in the opening 13 minutes but was forced off after twenty minutes.
Coach Chris Morgan told the Sentinel: “I think it is a precaution more than anything. A ball went over the top and he extended a little bit to chase it and just felt a little twinge in his hamstring.
“But we have had a look at him and hopefully that is fatigue from the build up in training that they have had, maybe a bit of lactic acid. We will monitor him over the next few days.”
