Match report: Walsall 0-1 Port Vale
Walsall 0-1 Port Vale: Winger Chris Eagles struck a potentially vital goal as Port Vale kept their survival hopes alive with a win at Walsall.
The result means Port Vale could stay up if they secure at least a point at Fleetwood and other sides lose.
Port Vale manager Michael Brown made three changes recalling goalkeeper Leo Fasan and bringing in Billy Reeves and Remie Streete.
Vale enjoyed a decent first-half with youngster Dan Turner having a couple of chances but the home side did have the better chance with an effort hitting the woodwork and another drawing a fine save from Fasan.
Both sides had good chances in the second period with Bakayoko forcing another good save from Fasan and Sam Foley having an effort for Vale.
In the closing stages, Pugh had another chance but fluffed his lines before winger Chris Eagles struck a wonderful goal with six minutes remaining. Eagles, who had had an outstanding game, was subbed soon after as Andre Bikey came on to shore up the defence.
Vale held on for only their second away win of the season and keep their hopes of survival in League One alive.
