Brown says Vale have a chance but it will be hard physically
Port Vale interim manager Michael Brown says the club’s games in hand give them a chance of staying up but that it will be a “physical” challenge.
In recent weeks, Vale have lost Danny Pugh, Jerome Thomas, Anthony De Freitas and Rigino Cicilia to injury while Remie Streete is still some way from recovering from his injury.
We’ve got those games in hand which will make it hard physically for us, but it gives you more opportunities…
The losses have put a strain on Vale’s squad with youth team graduates Billy Reeves and Dan Turner both featuring in recent games and fellow graduate James Gibbons on the bench.
The short gap between games could lead to more injuries but Brown also feels they are an opportunity. He told the media after the Swindon Town game that: “There are some massive games coming up, we know that. It’s hard to say the target. I’ve set myself something in my head, which will give us a chance.
