Port Vale issue statement on Bristol Rovers game incidents
Port Vale FC Chairman Norman Smurthwaite has issued a statement after there was various incidents in and around the away stand on Saturday.
Bristol Rovers’ chairman and the Staffordshire Police have also commented on the situation.
Smurthwaite’s statement says:
Chairman Statement following on from what happened in the away end and on the car park on Saturday the 18th of February against Bristol Rovers.
I would like to reassure everyone that myself, CBI (our security partners) and Staffordshire Police are currently investigating the disorder that took place in the away end during the game and in the car park afterwards.
We have reviewed club CCTV footage that was taken of the incidents, as well as police footage of what unfolded.
A debrief with the police will take place to review all matters.
Safety of all supporters and staff remains of paramount importance to us.
