Rob Fielding Headlines bradford city, michael brown

Interim manager Michael Brown told the media that the home defeat to Bradford City was “hard to take.”

Vale lost 2-1 on Saturday after former loanee Alex Jones scored the winner and Brown told the media: “It is extremely difficult to take, but we have to take the positives out of it. We keep saying this but going forward we have to get results.

It seems to be the way, a decision goes against us and a minute later it seems to go in the net…

“I would rather take a poor performance and come away with some points. I thought the second half was excellent from us against a good Bradford side who tried to gain control.

“They had the possession in the first half and we maybe struggled and got frustrated. But in the second half the boys were driving forward, I thought the boys in midfield were excellent and what a performance from Callum Guy at right-back.

“Let’s not forget there was a red card for everybody to see. It seems to be the way, a decision goes against us and a minute later it seems to go in the net.

“Overall we certainly deserved something out of the game and it was nice of their management staff to say at the end of the game ‘you were very unfortunate’. “It means a lot but I would rather be fortunate and take a point or three. But we know we are in this fight and we have to keep going and carry on doing a performance like that.”
