Brown frustrated after Vale miss out on deadline day deals
Caretaker manager Michael Brown says the club missed on adding an experienced defender and striker during the transfer deadline day.
Vale added Danny Pugh, Leonardo Fasan and Alex Pohouly but lost last season’s player of the year Anthony Grant.
Brown told Signal One radio: “It would have been nice to get some more experienced players that we went for. We had bids on the table for different players and we just couldn’t get them, or players chose other clubs that were a closer location for them around the London area for instance.
“It was a difficult time, but the hardest thing was to lose two of your players right on the last day. Yes, we got money in which we have got in the bank, but we were unable to spend it to bring some quality back in.”
