Chairman Norman Smurthwaite has tweeted to confirm that Port Vale could net a sell-on fee if former striker Jordan Hugill moves to Ipswich Town.
The national press are speculating that Ipswich have made a £1.5m bid for the Preston striker. However, according to reports, North End are holding out for a higher fee.
Hugill left Vale in the summer of 2014 and Vale were awarded £25,000 compensation plus a sell-on fee.
