OK, this is a repeat of our earlier two minute guide but it’s been a busy New Year period so we’ve opted for a re-run to save time…
Taken from our OVF archives and photographed by Paul H, this is the moment that tempers flared during a match against Oldham back in 2002. The match itself finished as a 1-1 draw with Dean Holden giving the visitors the lead before Steve McPhee equalised for the Valiants just two minutes after coming on as a sub.
The Vale team also featured the late Matt Carragher who sadly passed away recently.

Pre-match thoughts
“We watched Port Vale last night and they got the win so we know we need three points from the game. We need to start winning our home games and converting chances so we will see how that goes…”

Vale team news
The Valiants will be hoping that Alex Jones recovers from illness and is fit to start the game. If he does, Rigino Cicilia will probably drop to the bench. Fit again Ben Purkiss is set to continue as captain.
Last time we met…
It ended in a 2-2 draw at Vale Park earlier in the season. The Valiants looked to have won the game through Rigino Cicilia’s strike only for Carl Winchester’s late equaliser to earn the visitors a point.
