Port Vale confirm Nathan Smith has suffered hamstring injury
Port Vale caretaker manager Michael Brown has confirmed that defender Nathan Smith suffered a hamstring injury during the 3-2 defeat to Scunthorpe United.
Smith was forced out of the game and was subsequently replaced by Kjell Knops.
There is no news on how long the young defender, who has been linked with moves to clubs in higher divisions, could be missing for.
Vale do at least have some cover in defence with Knops able to move into central defence and Kiko and new signing Scott Tanser competing for the left-back position.
