Michael Brown boosts Vale coaching staff with former England keeper
Former England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is assisting Michael Brown with goalkeeping duties, the Sentinel reports.
Brown has had to rebuild his backroom staff after most coaches left following the departure of Bruno Ribeiro.
David Kelly has come in as Brown’s assistant while Academy coach Dan Watson is also assisting.
However, Brown has now brought in former Coventry, Liverpool, Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday keeper Chris Kirkland, who made one England appearance to help coach the goalkeepers.
Kirkland is a close friend of Brown from their time at Wigan Athletic and according to the Sentinel he is undertaking the coaching as a favour.
