Chesterfield fan: the aim is to finish at least fifth from bottom

Chesterfield fan Benno Spire of the Bob’s Board forum is hopeful that his side can beat relegation.

Thanks to REP for posing the questions

About the fan…

“I’ve been a regular fan for over forty years travelling home and away through highs and lows and more lows…”

About the opposition…

How do you expect your team to do this season?

To finish higher than Port Vale and at least fifth from bottom.

What are your thoughts on the manager?

There have been some negative tactics due to number of injuries and the signings were limited in quality due to lack of funds. Then there was Ched [Evans] a big gamble which could possibly pay-off but which has divided fans.

The players to watch?

Watch out for Gboly Ariyibi as he is now playing for a transfer in January.

Your thoughts on the board?

No comment as lawyers may be reading…

A score prediction and predicted away following?

A 3-1 away win with two goals from Ched Evans and another from Jay O’Shea. Possibly 400-500 away fans depending on our Boxing Day result.

Where do you think Vale will finish this season?

Worse than us.

A guide for Vale fans…

Any quirky facts?

Chesterfield have held a cup since 1981 (the Anglo-Scottish Cup), The Damned United football scenes were filmed at Saltergate, A pre-season friendly at Partick Thistle in 2000 provided a backdrop in scenes from TV programme Taggart.
