Bruno Ribeiro: I’d play 4-4-2 if Martin Paterson was fit
Port Vale manager says he would play two upfront if Martin Paterson could regain match fitness.
Ribeiro praised the forward for making himself available despite only being “fifty percent” fit but at the moment he is only fit enough to play as a substitute.
If not I change and play 4-4-2 with him in front. But when you don’t have, it is difficult to put more players forward…
Ribeiro told the media: “Paterson is fifty percent, he can’t play more than 15 to 20 minutes.
“If not I change and play 4-4-2 with him in front. But when you don’t have, it is difficult to put more players forward.
“He didn’t play for two years then came here and played six or seven games straight, and some injury has come.
“Last game he didn’t play as he was on the bench because he was 30 per cent and now a little bit better, but not 100 per cent fit.”
