New Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola says the club are ready to extend striker Alex Jones’ loan spell at Vale Park.
The news will be a massive relief for the Valiants as Jones has been in fine form since joining Vale. However, his initial loan spell runs out in January and Vale were fearful of losing the talented forward.
However, Zola told the Birmingham Mail: “With Alex we are talking about extending his loan probably with Port Vale.
“He’s been doing very well and there are also a couple of other teams that are interested in him.
“So we will see if we can extend his loan.”
