Port Vale assistant manager Michael Brown was effusive in his praise for debutant Ryan Taylor who scored the equaliser on his Vale debut.
Taylor scored a penalty that drew Vale level and made an influential contribution throughout the game.
Brown told the media: “It just shows you his quality. He has adapted to different positions there and hopefully he can just have that experience to pass on to the boys and help us improve.
“He was an experienced player available, and he just wanted to come and play football. That was first and foremost and full credit to him.”
