Worcester keen to extend ‘brilliant’ Boot’s loan spell
Worcester City say they want to extend the loan spell of Port Vale goalkeeper Ryan Boot.
Boot has been first-choice since joining City on a month’s loan and he has kept a clean sheet in each of his three games.
City manager Carl Heeley told the Worcester News newspaper: “He is a good goalkeeper and we really rate him. As long as Port Vale want to do business which I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t then we will look to extend it.
“Ryan just makes consistent decisions. He comes and takes balls that help out take the pressure off the back four and that’s brilliant to have as a defender.”
An extension to the deal would probably make sense to both clubs and to the player. Vale now have Miguel Santos as back-up to Jak Alnwick and want Boot to gain regular first-team football, Worcester clearly rate the player and Boot will be gaining first-team experience.
