Ribeiro is very happy that Vale won with good football
Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro said he was delighted his team won with “good football” on Saturday but he offered no explanation for Ben Purkiss’ absence.
Ribeiro was delighted with the performance during the 2-0 win over Southend saying: “I am very happy because the last game was very bad for the supporters.
I am very happy here with these fantastic players because they work every day…
“But we won with some good football. We tried to play all the time against a good team.
“I am very happy here with these fantastic players because they work every day.”
However, the manager remained tight-lipped on joint-skipper Ben Purkiss’ absence adding: “It is my option and he didn’t play today, maybe next Tuesday he will come back to the team.”
Purkiss was replaced by Calvin Mac-Intosch for Saturday’s win over Southend United.
