Port Vale bid for Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong rejected?
Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite has tweeted to say that the club have had a bid for Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong rejected.
Vale are in the market for a proven striker after Carlos Saleiro left the club and JJ Hooper was allowed to move on loan to Northampton Town.
Armstrong, who scored twenty goals for Coventry City last season, is known to be available for loan and would appear to fit the bill.
However, according to a reply on Twitter on Monday, it would appear that Vale’s offer for the 19 year-old has been rejected:
Sadly NU turned us down as they have better options for the boy.Made a real impact at CCFC last season
