Match report: Swindon Town 1-0 Port Vale
The Valiants conceded their first league goal of the season as they lost to Swindon Town on Saturday.
Manager Bruno Ribeiro made one change to his starting line-up with Anthony Defreitas replacing the injured Jerome Thomas.
Swindon had the better of the opening exchanges but Vale arguably had the better chances of the first-half with Hooper having a couple of opportunities.
However, Swindon took the lead early in the second-half after a mistake by Anthony Grant. Foley and Tavares were looking impressive in the Vale engineroom and Anthony Defreitas soon went close after a good run.
Forward Anton Forrester was forced off injured on the hour mark and replaced by loanee Alex Jones. Vale also threw on Mbamba and Cicilia as they tried to force an equaliser.
Cicilia had a good late chance only for the keeper to make a good save from the striker’s header as the home side held on to record Port Vale’s first league defeat of the season.
