Kiko returns to training but Ribeiro wants new left-back as cover
Bruno Ribeiro says he will try and sign a new left-back even though Kiko is set to return to training.
Vale have lost deputy Adam Yates for some months due to a cruciate ligament injury and with Kiko still some weeks away from full fitness, Vale are short of a specialist left-back with centre-half Kjell Knops deputising.
Ribeiro told the Sentinel newspaper: “Kiko will start training next Thursday but he needs a pre-season now. He missed two or three weeks in pre-season. But we need a left back and are looking for a left back too because we just have Kiko now Adam is injured for a year.
“We need a left back because sometimes we need Kjell at centre back.”
