Hooper thanks Vale fans but is looking forward to playing in “strongest position”
Port Vale’s loaned out forward has thanked Vale supporters for their support but says he is looking forward to “playing up top” again
Hooper moved to Town on loan this week after a spell playing out wide for the Valiants and he told the Northampton Chronicle: “The attraction for me was playing under Pagey again and playing up top.
I have to thank the fans for the support they have given me. But as a footballer I like to push on and develop even more. To do that I’d like to play in my strongest position…
“Linking back up with Pagey and playing in my preferred position. I think he’s a good man manager, he has coached me very well and got the best football out of me.”
Reflecting on his time at Vale Hooper added: “I wouldn’t say it was frustrating as I enjoyed my time there and I have to thank the fans for the support they have given me.
“But as a footballer I like to push on and develop even more. To do that I’d like to play in my strongest position, and I would like to now get some goals for the Cobblers.”
