Port Vale have announced that experienced striker Nathan Tyson is on trial with the club.
Tyson was named as a sub for the friendly game against Wolves on Saturday alongside former Valiant Chris Birchall who is unusually on trial with Vale after rejected the club’s initial contract offer.
Birchall had also had a trial period with former Vale manager Rob Page at Northampton Town.
Tyson, now aged 34, will be best known for spells with Nottingham Forest and Derby County. He was released by Doncaster Rovers in the summer.
