Bruno Ribeiro names three Vale players as joint captains
Manager Bruno Ribeiro has named three players as joint captains of the side this season.
Ribeiro told Signal One radio: “Purkiss, Jak and Granty are my three captains. I am going to take three captains because I need a strong dressing room and I need the three strong players that supporters like and all the people in the club like.
“It is important for us and we are a family. These are the bosses in the dressing room and we are very confident with these three, and the players are happy with these three captains.”
Commenting on Grant’s transfer request he added:
“If I put him on captain then I want him to stay. For me, he stays because he is very important for us. He is a quality player, a good midfielder who improves our team.
“He is an experienced player and I want him to stay.”
