Rumour: Portuguese left-back Kiko set to join Port Vale?
Portuguese website record.xl.pt says that 23 year-old former Portugal U20 defender Kiko is set to join Port Vale.
Kiko (full name Francisco Manuel Geraldo Rosa) plays for Vitória Setúbal and is a left-back. He would presumably replace Carl Dickinson, who is expected to join another club, in the Vale defence.
Kiko has made 23 appearances for Setúbal but spent last season at Académico de Viseu FC on loan. According to the press report he will sign a two-year deal with Vale.
The defender is the second player from Vitória Setúbal to be linked with Vale. Earlier today, midfielder Paulo Tevares was also linked with a move to Vale in the Portuguese press.
New Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro has strong ties with Vitória Setúbal after spending two spells as manager there.
