Rob Page apologises to fans

Manager Rob Page apologised to Port Vale fans after the 4-0 home defeat to Burton saying that “we just didn’t turn up.”

Page told the media after the game:  “Firstly, I would like to apologise to the supporters. We have had a good turnout today and we were all looking forward all week to playing against the league leaders off the back of a great performance last week. But we just didn’t turn up.

I would like to apologise to the supporters… we just didn’t turn up…

“I thought we started okay, we created a couple of chances and if they go in it is a different game. But we conceded two of the worst goals we have conceded all season. They were two sloppy goals and the third was a bit of magic from their player. Then after that at 3-0 it is game over. It is really disappointing and uncharacteristic.

“For us to be against the leaders, we needed to be firing on all cylinders and there were too many that weren’t.”
