Manager Rob Page has revealed that a “changing room committee” is helping to build character and a “never say die” attitude.
Page told the official Port Vale website: “We set certain little targets for them. We’ve got a committee as opposed to just one captain and all the responsibility falls on him to drive it forward what we want to do.
“We get a committee together and then there are three or four bodies who are saying the same things as what the staff are saying and it has an impact on the changing room then they manage themselves in that changing room.
“It’s certainly worked for us so far this season… There’s a big challenge ahead and we’re going to need that committee and all the players to show what they’ve done all season which is character and a never say die attitude.”
