Injury News: “Unluckiest player” Inniss injures hamstring
Port Vale manager Rob Page says that Ryan Inniss is “unluckiest player I think I have ever met” after the defender suffered a hamstring injury during the defeat to Barnsley.
Inniss has been beset with injuries since joining Vale on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace – and the loss of the undoubtedly talented defender has probably been a factor in Vale’s fading play-off hopes.
He has been the unluckiest player I think I have ever met with injuries. You have to feel for the lad…
Page told the media: “It’s a hamstring but we don’t know the extent of that. He has been the unluckiest player I think I have ever met with injuries. You have to feel for the lad.
“Ryan was really disheartened with his shoulder and asking why has this happened to him again. We have had to keep him positive and get him back from that so we will do exactly the same.
“He is young and he is going to get little injuries. Believe it or not, he is 6ft 6in and his body is still changing. So, it is getting him in the gym every other day and building him up so that hopefully these little injuries that he is picking up will be few and far between.”
