Port Vale loan out goalkeeper Chris Neal
Port Vale have loaned goalkeeper Chris Neal to League One rivals Doncaster Rovers.
Neal was injured during the summer and apart from a brief sub appearance, he has been unable to dislodge the impressive Jak Alnwick from the green jersey.
Neal joins Rovers on a month’s loan. He joins fellow keeper Sam Johnson (FC Halifax Town) in going on loan. Vale are well-stocked with goalkeepers and it means that the highly rated Ryan Boot will be Alnwick’s deputy while Neal is away.
Ironically, Neal could replace Thorsten Stuckmann who was injured during Vale’s game with Doncaster last week. The German is due to have an x-ray on his shoulder after suffering an awkward fall in the defeat.
Neal won promotion with Vale in 2013 and has twice been voted the Port Vale’s players’ player of the season. He has made 133 appearances for the Valiants.
