Page: We haven’t got a “big galoot” upfront – we need to create
Rob Page says that the Valiants need to be more creative if they are to score goals.
Vale have gone two games without scoring and the Vale manager believes goals can be achieved without resorting to route one football.
We can’t just lump it into the box because we haven’t got that presence who is going to go and scrap for us…
He said: “We haven’t got a big galoot up top. So, for example, when Bradford went down to 10 men here and put two banks of four behind the ball, we can’t just lump it into the box because we haven’t got that presence who is going to go and scrap for us.
“So, we have to keep playing and try to be a bit more creative. It is getting both right, because at times we haven’t been creative enough or clinical.
“At other times we have created but just haven’t had the rub of the green to finish them off.”
