Port Vale in talks to sign loan striker and impressed by Banton
Rob Page has confirmed that he is hopeful of sealing deal for a loan player next week after opening talks with the forward’s club.He told the media: “We are in talks and hopefully, by the beginning part of next week, we will have some more information on that.”
The Valiants have AJ Leitch-Smith, Louis Dodds, JJ Hooper, Colin Daniel and Achille Campion in their ranks already but they have room for another striker after deciding not to renew Uche Ikpeazu’s loan from Watford.
Page could potentially add two players next week after commenting that the club have been impressed with trialist Jason Banton.
The Vale boss says that the club will make a decision next week commenting: “He looks great in training, he really does. So we will see him in a game next week now. We have cleared it with Wycombe to keep him up here for another week and have a look at him in a game. Then to be fair to him we will make a decision after that.”
