Page: Streete can go on loan but remains in long-term plans
Manager Rob Page has said that defender Remie Streete can move on loan to gain match practice but the defender remains part of the club’s long-term plans.
Streete’s last appearance was the bitterly disappointing FA Cup defeat to Exeter City in December and he has made just 13 appearances for Vale this season.
The manager told the Sentinel: “I think three centre backs is enough so if ever there is an issue where Remie says he wants to play games then I am not going to stand in his way.
“If anything happened to Ryan McGivern and Richard Duffy then we have big Ryan Inniss who can step in. It is about wanting to go and play games and be competitive, and if it was Remie, than he has a long-term future at this club.
“He is a fantastic player but it is frustrating for him at the minute because he is not getting minutes. In the long term he is not going anywhere but in the short term I would allow him to play games.”
