Rob Page says Vale are a work in progress
Vale manager told the Sentinel that he has put “his stamp” on the side but there will be more signings to complete their transformation.
Page told the newspaper: “Putting my stamp on how we go about our business was the most important thing.
“To do that you need the players to come in who can execute that, players like Ben Purkiss.
“I want full-backs getting forward and playing high up the pitch, and he has certainly bought into that, and Adam Yates can do it as well.
“We never really had a defensive centre midfielder to allow the other centre midfielder to break forward. Anthony Grant allows us to do that.
“We wanted pace outside, and Enoch has done that and so has Sam Kelly.
“Also, there’s presence up top with Uche Ikpeazu, but someone with pace off him as well, which AJ Leitch-Smith is doing.
“So we are getting there. It is a work in progress and there will still be additions to the squad to help us achieve that.”
