O’Connor: Don’t underestimate non-league teams
Midfielder Michael O’Connor says that Vale were guilty of complacency during the first leg of their FA Cup tie with Maidenhead United.
Vale face Maidenhead again in a televised replay and the playmaker says the Valiants must approach the game in the right manner.
It’s going to be a huge game; I think it will probably be one of the toughest away games we play…
He told the Sentinel: “Don’t underestimate non-league teams. With 30 second to go we switched off and they scored a goal, but I thought in the second half we just sat back and let them do what they wanted.
“The fans weren’t happy and you could see why. But we will go there and go on the front foot. We are in good form at the minute, we have had two league wins back to back so hopefully we can keep this little run going.
“It’s going to be a huge game; I think it will probably be one of the toughest away games we play. I am sure it’s going to be wet and windy, they will be up for it and we need to go into it with the right mind set and get the win on the night.
