Chesterfield boss complains – we shouldn’t have lost
Chesterfield manager Dean Saunders told the media that his side “dominated the game” at Vale Park from the eighth minute.
The Valiants secured their third straight league win a row and many Vale fans were pleased with the side’s performance. However, Saunders was clearly frustrated after the match claiming that Vale only had “four shots and scoring three goals.”
Lee Novak has then scored a great equaliser and we’ve dominated the game from then on really…
Saunders commented: “We shouldn’t have lost that game. We could have scored three in the first three minutes and then we’ve conceded the first time they have come into our box.
“Lee Novak has then scored a great equaliser and we’ve dominated the game from then on really. We passed the ball well and played some great football, but our final ball has let us down on numerous occasions.
“Their second goal was also poor on our part, but the ball has taken a deflection off Richard Wood. And their third has come from a long ball from a goal-kick where we have switched off.
“Vale have ended up having four shots and scoring three goals, yet we’ve created loads of chances. It’s been a very frustrating afternoon.”
