Havant win compensation for Hooper’s Vale move
Havant and Waterlooville have announced that the FA have ruled that Port Vale must pay compensation for striker JJ Hooper.
Hooper joined the Valiants and signed a two-year contract in August 2015. So far, he has made two appearances for the club.
A statement on the Havant and Waterlooville website states: The FA have ruled that Port Vale pay £8400 in compensation to Havant and Waterlooville for JJ Hooper, in 30 games that JJ played for the HAWKS he scored 20 goals and also got his England C call up.
Havant and Waterlooville are pleased with the FA’s decision as it seems fair that when a club develops a young player that they get a fair fee for that player. Lee Bradbury has produced a string of successful young players that have moved on to play in higher leagues, including Chris Arthur, Ollie Palmer and Pompey favorite Nigel Atangana.
