Campion set to play in Torquay trial game
Torquay United manager Kevin Nicholson has declared himself “impressed” with striker Achille Campion as the Frenchman is set to play his first game for the club.
Earlier this season, Vale boss Rob Page told Campion to go on loan to make a case for inclusion in Vale’s first-team squad.
The striker has been strongly linked with a loan move to Torquay and took part in training last week. He is set to be one of a number of trialists who could play for United in the (catchily named) Edenvale Turf Devon St Luke’s Cup tie away to Willand Rovers on Wednesday night.
Campion had to cut short his stay last week due to personal reasons, but Torquay boss Kevin Nicholson told the Herald Express that: “I was impressed with Achille’s attitude – he needed to go home last week, but he still turned up here for a day’s training.
“We’ve had good reports about him and he’s available for loan, but I want to have a good look at him for a couple of days.
