Port Vale plan further stadium improvements for home fans
The Port Vale chairman says that he is “in the process” of adding new facilities to the Vale Park stadium.
Norman Smurthwaite told BBC Radio Stoke: “Now is the first time in three years of owning the club I have found out what challenges I have regarding catering.

“So I am in the process of having some work done, because there are a lot of mine shafts under Port Vale’s ground, to ensure we can look to build a new pub/concourse arrangement for the Railway Paddock end.
“It will be a pub before the game, concourse and toilets during the game and pub after. It will be two storey and there will be a function room at the top.
“That will then become the new home pub, which will get rid of some of the issues I’ve had with the police regarding home and away fans being in Tommy’s .
“I may then demolish Tommy’s to build a smaller pub, but the guy who is in Tommy’s at the moment is spending so much money on it he has embarrassed me to maybe reconsider.”
