Page: I judge Glover as a scout, not an ex-manager
Manager Rob Page has praised chief scout Dean Glover for his part in the signing of midfielder Anthony Grant.
The appointment of Glover was widely criticised after a poor spell as manager but Page told the Sentinel: “I understand supporters will have their views from when he was manager.
I respected Deano’s opinion and his work ethic and I am judging him on that…
“This is football for you. It is opinions and I can only speak as I find.
“When I took over in October last year we didn’t have the resources to bring any of my staff in, so I had to promote from within.
“I respected Deano’s opinion and his work ethic and I am judging him on that.”
Page added: “We met Granty and from the first day from the end of last season I was in every day and Deano was in alongside me.
“He is the one that has been working tirelessly with myself to improve the squad.
“It was down to him that we got Granty through the door and then once I met with him we knew that was the right way to go, and he has proved that.”
