Three signings that will be key for Port Vale in the 2015/16 Campaign
Which three players could make the difference for the Valiants this season? OVF has a punt at predicting the future…
With the accessibility that online news portals give us to source breaking transfer news, it has never been easier to keep up with the latest Vale and world football news. Although, two games in to the current season – one being a league game against Crewe Alexandra – we thought we’d preview three of the key summer acquisitions ahead of the long campaign ahead. Additionally, we’ll look at some of the best apps and social media accounts to keep you up to date with the transfers before the window closes on September 1.
Ryan Innis (Central Defence)
It was a tough call to leave out what many consider Vale’s biggest signing this summer…
Although Innis was left out of the opening league game against Crewe in favour of Richard Duffy and Remie Streete, it was a tough call to leave out what many consider Vale’s biggest signing this summer. The 20-year-old who arrived on loan from Premiership side Crystal Palace. The likelihood is that Innis will feature soon though as manager Rob Page told The Stoke Sentinel: “We know what he is all about. It has been frustrating for him. The plan was to play him for 90 minutes against Altrincham, but after 12 minutes we were bringing him off with an injury.”
Remie Streete (Central Defence)
Streete will be looking to make the position his own in the coming months…
After appearing for Vale three times last year on loan from Newcastle United, Streete could have a big impact on League One. Having started the opening game alongside Richard Duffy, Streete will be looking to make the position his own in the coming months. Streete will also be looking to finally find a club that he can settle at after having brief spells with the likes of Everton, Norwich City, Rangers and Cambridge United over the years.
Anthony Grant (Midfield)
Vale have signed a player who has a lot of experience at League One level…
After singing Grant from Crewe Alexander, Vale have signed a player who has a lot of experience at League One level. Grant played a total of 91 times for Vale’s opening day opponents, and Rob Page recently told the BBC: “Anthony will be a great addition to our squad and will really help strengthen the midfield area. He has performed very well for Crewe over the last couple of years and we’re delighted to have him on board as we head into the new season.”
It has been a busy summer for Vale so far, and luckily for fans there are many useful online news portals to keep up to date right from your mobile. Statista forecasts that the amount of apps downloaded each year by 2018 will surpass the 5 billion mark. This is largely down to “mobile Internet now being one of the most influential trends,” online at this current time as reported by the developers of entertainment portal Spin Genie. However, a lot of the apps that are produced aren’t for everyone, so what apps and twitter accounts should Vale fans download and follow:
