Rob Page: It feels like a win
Manager Rob Page says that Port Vale’s dramatic draw with Swindon Town “feels like a win.”
Vale were grateful for Sam Foley’s 94th minute penalty to earn them a point at the County Ground and Page told the media: “It feels like a win at the moment. We are disappointed with the first goal we conceded and the second was a bit of fortune on their part because it took a couple of deflections before it was finished well.
The referee has clearly blown to take the corner, so we did. Then their centre-half, for whatever reason, has decided to jump and punch the ball…
“But I thought we grew into the game. We knew we had to defend as a unit and I thought every single one of them did exactly that. It was really pleasing to see they came off with their rewards.”
Page also backed the match referee over the award of a penalty adding: “The referee has clearly blown to take the corner, so we did. Then their centre half, for whatever reason, has decided to jump and punch the ball.”
The draw means that Vale are currently unbeaten in their League One campaign so far.
