Port Vale 1-0 Burnley
Byron Moore scored Vale’s first goal of the season as the Valiants stunned Championship side Burnley in the League Cup.
Rob Page gave full debuts to Enoch Andoh and AJ Leitch-Smith but Ryan Inniss was only deemed fit enough for the bench.
Tough task for @OfficialPVFC v a @BurnleyOfficial side with only 4 changes. Come on Vale! pic.twitter.com/tQRk2WkvwW

Anthony Grant went into the book early on for a foul but Vale impressed through the rest of the first-half.
The Valiants were bossing their opponents with some lovely, attractive football. Both Andoh and Dickinson had chances but unfortunately the Vale were unable to turn their possession into goal in the first period.

There was a change at half-time as Ryan Inniss took to the pitch to replace Remie Streete. Vale were grateful for Inniss ten minutes into the second-half as he produced a superb block to deny George Boyd.
Vale brought on Ikpeazu and Kelly for Leitch-Smith and the impressive Andoh and were rewarded for their impressive play with ten minutes left. Byron Moore’s effort appeared to cross the line and after a brief pause the officials gave the goal.
Burnley went close in the dying seconds but Boyd’s shot grazed the bar as Vale held on for a memorable win. It was all that Rob Page’s side deserved after an impressive first home performance of the season.
