Port Vale “helping out” Hughes with training invite
The Sentinel reports that former striker Lee Hughes is training with the squad – as a favour to the veteran forward.
Manager Rob Page has revealed that Hughes has a number of offers for his services and the club have agreed to help him keep fit.
Page told the newspaper: “Hughesy is a great character and I got on great with him when he was here for 12 months. I am helping him out as a mate.
“He has a couple of offers on the table from other clubs and it is an opportunity for him to come in and get fit.”
Hughes joined another newcomer – AJ Leitch-Smith – in the squad’s first training session of the summer.
