Key midfielder Michael O’Connor could miss the game against Crewe after being injured in the friendly against Bolton.
O’Connor was forced off after just five minutes after injuring his knee.
Manager Rob Page told the Sentinel: “We’ve got to book Michael in [on Wednesday] to get a scan and I think once we’ve had that we will know the extent of the damage.
“I don’t want to speculate at this moment in time. Let me get the facts in front of me and I can give an honest answer. He’s a little bit disappointed himself so we need to find out the facts and go from there.
“The lad [Trotter] apologised straight away and Neil Lennon has been terrific. He wants to be kept informed of how the lad gets on. There’s no malice whatsoever, his momentum has taken him across the knee and that’s what jarred it.”
